At her passing, Bailey was surrounded in love by her dedicated and caring foster mom, Marla, and those who tried so hard to save her. Bailey and her brother, Duke, were surrendered to us by the owner. They had lived outside their whole lives with no shelter and little vetting. Their condition upon intake was horrendous. Bailey was at least 50 pounds underweight, her ears were broken, and she had severe pyrometria--an infection of the uterus. Although under weight, she required emergency surgery to remove the infected uterus in order to save her life. The road to recovery would be long, but she had a fighting spirit.
