Videos of D109 Litter Abbott - ADOPTED:UPDATE: Abbott’s true personality is beginning to show. He is a feisty, but sweet puppy. He’s a bit of a ‘momma’s boy’ and likes to be sure she is near. He is also very smart. He already knows his name, is quickly getting the ‘potty outdoors’ thing down pat, keeps his crate clean during naps and overnight, and loves to chew on his toys [and anything else for that matter]. He is on the quiet side, although this could change as he gets older. He loves to chase his brother around. He is happy to see visitors when they come to the home. Abbott is becoming more accepting of grooming and handling and has just started training on basic commands. Meet Abbott and Costello. They are "Schnoodles", a mix of poodle and schnauzer. They came from a puppy mill in Ohio. Abbott favors the Schnauzer breed with his wirier charcoal coat and terrier behaviors. He is a feisty pup on one hand, but also the more timid about some things. The end of his tail is white, like he stuck it in a bucket of white paint. Costello favors the Poodle side of his parentage with his soft, curly hair and more laid-back demeanor. He has soulful eyes that you can't resist. But don't be fooled by their cuteness! They are puppies and display all the puppy behaviors there are, including chewing on everything! To their credit, coming from a puppy mill, they are quite playful and social, although they are hesitant to come out of their crates and need a lot of coaxing to do so. They also have no understanding of a collar and leash and fight both but are slowly acclimating to all these changes. Abbott and Costello will be visiting the vet soon for a health check and necessary vaccines. They will be microchipped at that time. These two cuties will not last long, so if you want to be considered for either of them apply ASAP.
HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.
