Other Pictures of JJ - ADOPTION PENDING (click to see larger version):Meet JJ! JJ is a 70# one year old neutered Male Chocolate Lab that came from a rural area down south. JJ is an appealing mix of Black Coffee Brown with shades of Dark Chocolate and some reddish tones mixed in. He has a medium length double coat with a lustrous sheen to it. He is a beautiful dog. JJ spent part of his puppyhood in a busy animal control facility, so he had little training but did impress everyone there with his sweet nature. JJ is modeling a red Gentle Leader Headcollar in some of his pictures and a matching Martingale Collar. Anyone interested in adopting JJ should understand these two important training tools will be needed to help shape JJ into the best dog ever. JJ is housebroken, crate trained and has excellent potty skills. He is learning to wait at the door and walk on a leash right now. JJ seems to love other dogs and loves to interact with his good friend Charlie (D102 Litter). JJ is a power chewer and needs to have appropriate toys to work on so he does not chew on inappropriate things. Good choices for JJ are KONG Extreme (Black), XL Nylabones, and L/XL Antlers. JJ is athletic and powerful dog with a stellar temperament. We are looking for an active home that is interested in shaping him to become a partner in outdoor activities. He would excel at dock diving or agility. Any prospective owner should plan for board and train, doggy daycare or obedience training classes to help JJ learn to focus in different environments. A physically fenced in yard is a MUST. JJ has demonstrated he knows how to go under paddock fences and has some skills in roaming from his past life. Fencing must be at least four feet high, and JJ should be trained to respect boundaries. Individuals that live in an apartment or condo that are committed marathon runners on weekdays. and weekend outdoor warriors may also be considered. JJ is not a dog that can be tethered or trusted off leash. At this time, JJ is not a Dog Park dog, so that should not be considered as part of his exercise plan. Although JJ is sweet and gentle, he is still a puppy with a linebacker playing style. Another active larger dog in the home is a plus. Dogs chosen to play with him should be willing and able to handle this energy. If there are children in the home, they should be larger and sturdy (tweens and up) as JJ currently does not understand his size and jumps up in excitement. JJ has a super soft temperament. No electronic fencing. No shock collars, prong collars, or choke chains. Positive motivational trainers who do not use the above tools and that are familiar with clicker training would be a great choice. Nose work and tracking would also be great areas for JJ to utilize his natural talents. If you think you are match for JJ, send in your application today. JJ can’t wait to meet you! Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
