Description:
Other Pictures of Mochi (click to see larger version):Mochi is an 85 pound 4 year old Male Purebred Akita with stunning good looks and a super sweet and kind disposition. His temperament and size are very much Japanese Akita, but his markings are more American Akita. Mochi did not seem to get the best start in life, being chained outdoors for much of his puppyhood. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and is somewhat of a large goofball. He is confident, even in new environments, and was a wonderful pup for the vet on his first checkup. He loves pets and snuggles, and adores all humans he has met here. Mochi does know some commands, and has a pretty good “sit” response and does walk well on a leash. He is housebroken, and is enjoys being indoors around his people and is generally a quiet dog. He will bark from time to time to for attention or if he needs to go outside, He loves to go for car rides, jumps right in when invited, but a harness or car barrier is recommended, as he likes to show affection to his chauffeur while being driven. Even though he is large, Mochi has a very chill personality. We are looking for a home with a physically fenced in yard of at least five feet tall, six feet if chain link. An active home, with sturdy dog savvy children tween-teens and older would be a great match. Mochi sometimes jumps up, and it seems he was encouraged to do for affection (he rests his front paws on the chest of the human and likes to lick faces). Prospective adopters should be ready to do some refresh training, but Mochi loves food and loves to please his humans, so it shouldn’t take much to bring him up to speed. Positive motivational training only for this pup. NO prong, choke, shock collars or E-fencing please. We currently use a martingale collar, and he responds beautifully to leash cues with minimal effort. He can get excited when he sees wildlife, but listens to commands well. If another dog is in the home, Mochi would do best matched with another L/XL breed female. No toy or small dogs or other small furry animals. NO cats. We are looking for a fabulous home for this precious pup, so if it sounds like you would be a match for what he needs, send in your application right away. He can’t wait to meet you! Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
