Mako is a 2 year old cattle dog/ shepherd mix with a lot of energy! He is very sweet boy, neutered, treated for fleas and up to date on shots. This breed needs a lot of exercise so he would benefit from a large yard or other dogs to play with . He is good with other dogs his size and may benefit from a dog companion to help him burn off some energy. He LOVES to be walked at least once a day and is good on a leash with a harness, but when he passes other dogs he does get excited and tends to bark and pull (he is pretty strong so a harness or Gentle leader is necessary). I think he just wants to meet everyone and play. He is potty trained and good with kids (but may accidentally knock over small ones when getting excited). Not sure if he’s good with cats but he does NOT show signs of aggression with small animals like squirrels or birds; he’s genuinely just is curious, happy guy! He knows sit, stay, shake, lay down, roll over and is very treat-responsive. He even learned how to ring the bell to go outside! He is crate trained and should be put in his crate if he has to be left alone or else his curiosity will probably get the best of him. He barks a bit when you first put him in his crate but calms down quickly, especially when given a nice treat to enjoy while he’s in there. He just doesn’t like to be away from the action or alone for too long. He is a very busy boy, loves his bone and other toys and loves to play tug and fetch. He does jump up when people come to the door, and will jump up to the couch or your lap to get as much love and attention as possible, but he does well when redirected and given a toy. He just needs some training. He is a very curious boy and loves one-on-one attention and snuggles. His coat is extremely soft and healthy and he is just SO cute, such a lover. Would do great with a family willing to put time into training and exercising him. If you are looking for a new best friend, Mako is your guy

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
