Moonshine update -

My foster mama is concerned because I'm a picky eater and so thin.  So she had some doggie doctors run tests on me and found out my darn kidney's are givin' me fits and also something called pancreatitis.  Isn't that the pits!  Now I know what you're thinkin'; and it may be true my doggie days are numbered, but darn, you still love your humans even when they are old and sick, right?  So maybe I won't break any world records for longevity, I am doing pretty good right now and am a happy fella.  My foster mama says I will need to be monitored for changes in my kidney values and weight.  So...I suppose this means you won't let me live at your retirement home?  Maybe though....you might consider it?

Hi there!  My name is Moonshine.  My foster mama calls me Papi.  But it doesn’t really matter what you call me ‘cause I can’t hear you anyways – I’m deaf!  But not to worry, I understand foster mama's hand signals.  And shoot, I got some other old age stuff going on, just like you humans.  Got a bit of arthritis in my back and these darn cataracts that cloud my vision.  But I can still see pretty good; you betcha!  And I still got some spring in my step…yes siree! My former human got some health stuff too and had to give me up.  So here I am lookin’ for a new retirement home.  Maybe you got some room at your place? 

I suppose you want to know somethin’ ‘bout my character.  Well, I like everyone. Yup, even grumpy humans.  I’m pretty laid back if I do say so myself!  I’m living with some other dogs, and they’re okay, as long as they don’t bother me or try to muscle in on my food.  I’ll give them a piece of my mind if they try!  I have house manners.  No self-respecting old dog wouldn’t.  But I got to admit sometimes I have to hustle to get outside or I might not make it.  Blame that on old age!  My typical day consists of snoozing, cuddling with my human, following my human around, snoozing, cuddling with my human, following my human around, snoozing….well, I guess you get the idea.  I really like being with my human, and get sad when we’re apart.  When foster mama needs to leave me, she puts me in this crate thing, which I really don’t like…and I let her know it!  So we made a human-dog agreement.  She will let me stay out during the day, but at night I need to sleep in this crate thing.  I still don’t like it much, but I’m willin’ to keep my end of the bargin.  I don’t eat much, so won’t bust your food bill.  I do like the outdoors on nice days.  Well, even on not-so-nice days; but especially on nice days.  It sure would be great if my retirement home had a nice backyard for me to enjoy and wander in.   Well, that’s ‘bout all.  Did I convince you that I’m right for your home?  I did?  Great! Moonshine is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped and UTD on vaccines.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
