Description:

Meet Sally! Sally has a bit of an unknown story. We know she was found at just a couple of months of age abandoned on a basketball court in a small town in Ohio where it looks like she had been bitten by another dog. She was fixed up locally and has since made her way here to find her forever home through Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. Did you know that visual breed guesses are wrong 75% of the time? The shelter originally taking care of her guessed Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle mix, our guess is closer to German Shorthaired pointer/hound mix with her long legs and slender body. That’s just it, it’s just a guess! At 15 pounds at approx. 12-14 weeks, she will ‘likely’ be a slim 50-65 lbs based upon our weight estimator. She has fit in perfectly with our pack and would do well with dogs of similar energy. We have two active young elementary age boys, 2 dogs (one that can keep up with her and one that can’t/won’t) and even a cat she doesn’t seem to bother! Her new family will need to understand that puppy training is a process. Lots and lots of positive reinforcement, redirecting the teething with appropriate toys, and continual potty breaks. We are really proud of her, acclimating with her history is not always easy! She has had ZERO ACCIDENTS crated at night or during the day when we are at work (approx. 6 hours daily), walks well on a leash, is already ringing the bell to go outside to go potty, her name/recall has been fantastic, and she is catching onto our potty training schedule quickly. Can you tell we love her already? Will you too? Puppies go fast, so if you are interested, please submit an online application immediately and be patient while we work through the applications, do vet checks, home visits etc. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
