Meet Sable, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue.

Sable is a young (~1 y) Black Lab mix with a beautiful coat, sweet brown eyes, and she is a very happy girl. She weighs about 47 pounds and she had her first vaccinations on April 2nd. Sable will be going in for her booster shots on May 11th and she is scheduled to be spayed on July 1st.

Sadly, Sable was abandoned by her owner by being tied to a tree with a rope. As she tried desperately to break free, the rope burned and broke through her skin leaving a wound from her right ear to ~ under her chin. She has already completed a 10 day course of antibiotics and her skin has healed up nicely.

Even after this treatment, Sable is the happiest and most loving girl imaginable. She doesn’t exhibit any signs of trauma or other abuse and she absolutely loves meeting people. Sable has been nonreactive to the other dogs in our kennels.

Sable will need some basic training as I don’t believe she’s ever been given that opportunity. She’s gentle, playful, sweet, and loving but she needs to be taught to sit, stay, come, etc. (I’m already working on some of these). Sable loves squeaky toys and playing ball. You should have seen her excitement when I gave her a pink, rubber, squeaky ball upon arrival.

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
