Description:
This is Henry, another of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me kennels for Happy Days Rescue. Henry is said to be a Whippet/Border Collie mix but I think that’s probably open to debate.
Henry’s estimated date of birth is 12/29/18 and he weighs just 28 pounds. His coat is white with black spots and, as you can see, the fur on his head is all black. He has inquisitive and piercing brown eyes. Henry was neutered on 1-6 and he tested negative for Heart Worm disease. He will be microchipped and updated on vaccines in the coming weeks.
Henry is very shy and he’s also quite apprehensive. The first two days he stayed on his bed shaking and he needed to be carried outside and he would only stand and shake when set down on the ground. Inside, he has been hesitant to move from his bed but this morning he was waiting for his breakfast by the kennel gate for the first time.
Henry most likely hasn’t had much socialization; he needs time to build trust and to gain his confidence. He is non reactive to the other dogs and, fortunately, he doesn’t mind being picked up and carried around for now. He did take his first walk around the property with one of our volunteers on Saturday.
To be completely transparent, Henry captured the attention of some visitors we had over the weekend so he may have an adoption application coming in already. If you are interested in adopting Henry, please submit an adoption application at
happydaysdogandcatrescue.org
.
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.
Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
