Meet Sadie, one of our newest residents at the Mikey & Me kennels in Chelsea. Sadie (aka Sunflower) is a Lab Mix, she is about two years old, she weighs about 32 pounds, and she is very friendly.

She was found as a stray and she was obviously undernourished; we are working to put weight on her. Sadie is mostly white with a few brown speckles on her ears and a streak of brown on her lower back. Sadie is very good about entertaining herself in her kennel. A durable squeaky toy will keep her busy for an extended period of time. We are working with Sadie on leash walking and she has enjoyed discovering the fields and walking trails. She has an adorable little bark and, at times, it sounds more like  she is talking.

Sadie has a wellness checkup scheduled and she will be spayed the following week after which she will need a few days of recovery. She tested negative for heart worm on June 2nd and is on a heart worm preventative monthly. 

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
