Blackjack is a very handsome Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix and he is only about one year old. He will be updated on shots and he will be microchipped for his safety. I would guess him at about 50-60 pounds right now but, based on the size of his paws, I would expect him to get bigger. Blackjack will be neutered also. 

Blackjack came to us very afraid after ending up at a crowded shelter that was noisy and confusing for him. He is still struggling with fear and some anxiety but he is making progress each day toward being able to let his fear and anxiety go. Blackjack gets nervous about leaving his bed and going outside but once he’s out there, he wants to walk and his tail is wagging.

I’m hoping someone out there will zero in on this beautiful dog and want to bond with him as he works to overcome his anxiety and fear. We will be helping Blackjack by providing him with a consistent routine, long walks, and by showering him with love and affection. My hope is that he will soon realize that he is safe now and that he will want to get better. 

Blackjack loves interacting with people and he’s been completely calm around the other dogs we have introduced him to. He has not shown any sign of aggression and he is completely submissive when I coax him to go outside. In fact, he started walking better and wagging his tail when I would walk another dog just ahead of him. 

Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.  Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
