Other Pictures of Gigi - ADOPTED (click to see larger version):Gigi is a three year old Border Collie mix and she loves interacting with people. She was adopted into a home in November of 2017 and she was returned in December of 2018 because of an unexpected change in the family’s dynamics. Gigi has been spayed, she is heart worm negative, she has been microchipped, and she is up to date on shots. Border Collies are very smart dogs and they need to have a job to focus on. They need plenty of exercise and they very much like to be the center of attention. My impression of Gigi is that she wasn’t getting the attention and exercise she needed over the last year. Her tail has been wagging and Gigi has been very happy since returning to foster care where she gets four long walks each day and where she interacts with people on a more consistent basis. She loves having kids in her kennel showering her with love and affection. Gigi went to a family home for an adoption trial recently and she did great in the house. Her adopter said she seemed well trained to hold her urine until she could go outside. The problem they had was that Gigi was trying to be the alpha dog and she didn’t play nicely with their senior female dog as a result. Accordingly, it will be best if Gigi is an only dog where she can be the center of attention and where she can have a confident alpha leader. Gigi is very submissive to verbal commands and she will make a loyal and loving companion. If you would like to meet Gigi, please message Dan on Facebook at Mikey & Me Foster Care. Applications for her adoption can be submitted at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org.
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
