Kits joined our rescue when her owner went into a nursing home. The owner did not have any family so when the landlord cleaned out the apartment, he wanted to put the lady's belongings and pets on the streets of Detroit. The lady had two cats - one was already adopted and the other is sweet Kits :)
Kits is exceptionally affectionate. Actually the most affectionate of the 22 cats that I've fostered throughout the years. Kits loves to be on your lap, on the couch next to you, or brushing up against you. She quickly warms up to you and purrs her head off. She even will paw at me or give love nibbles if I'm not paying attention to her. She's highly interactive. She does try to sleep with me at night when the dog isn't in the bed!
Kits is not very motivated by food or treats, which can be good because she doesn't beg for human food the way my other cats do (I don't think she perceives anything besides kibble to be edible).
Kits is civil with the other pets in the home, but I think she would honestly enjoy being an only child based on the amount of one-on-one attention that she craves. She would not want to compete with another animal to be your lap cat.
Could Kits be the right cat for you?? Put in an application or email us (info@hddcr.com) to set up a meet and greet!
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
