Other Pictures of Walter-ADOPTED (click to see larger version):Hi my name is Walter. I just came to Michigan from Kentucky where I was in a shelter. I'm a 3-4 year old very skinny beagle and I'm adjusting to my new foster home. I like to go outside and play and sniff and run. I'm a pretty timid and shy guy I'm still learning about the different dogs and people that live in my foster home but I like to follow my foster parents around to see what they're doing. When they're not looking I like to steal toys and play with them. I like the other dogs in the house too and I like belly rubs. I like pets too and I ask very nicely to get them. I am house trained and crate trained. I just need some time to adjust and I'm sure I'll come out of my shell but so far so good in my new foster home. I am looking for a home of my own though so I would need somebody with a fenced-in yard because I am a beagle and somebody willing to help me learn not to be quite so shy. Unfortunately Walter received some bad news from the vet this week. He has a grade 6 heart murmur, likely a birth defect, and there is nothing medically that can be done for him. His prognosis is not good, his health will decline. Right now, though, he is a happy, playful, and gentle boy who loves attention, enjoys playing with toys, and likes other dogs. He is a lover. He would need a special family to step up for him to provide him a loving home as he deals with his increasing medical conditions. This boy deserves nothing but love. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
