Please read my ENTIRE bio before applying to adopt me.  Hi my name is Pepperoni aka Mabel! At 22 pounds, I'm fairly small, but fully grown.  I love, love, love my people. I follow my foster mom around everywhere and sometimes I love to be held and cuddled. I love having her son and brother visit now. I jump into her lap when I feel like being loved! I can be very persistent about that too! My foster mom has 3 large dogs of her own and I do very well with them. They are mellow dogs so that works for me. The young one is disabled but can play a bit and we play as long as he is able. She also dog-sat two small older dogs and I did well with them too. I am a bit protective of my food and toys. I do chase her cats every chance I get and the cats are not happy with me so NO CATS. I love going outside a lot! I love to try to catch the squirrels.  I must have a fenced yard with a 5 foot or higher privacy fence. I am crate trained and partially house trained. I will use the pee pads if I end up going potty inside. If confined I can hold it. I know how to sit and I'm eager to please. I love treats! I love to go for walks and I am not too bad on the leash. 

MY CHALLENGES ARE:

1. I dig holes in the yard and I eat poop! Drives my foster mom nuts!  So I need to be watched while outside in the yard. 
2. I have had two seizures since coming into foster care in the Fall of 2017, but none for a while. All my blood work came out good so I am just being monitored at this time, 
3. I take a while to warm up to new people. I don’t trust new people. This can be challenging. But once I know people I love them all. I need patience and direction during introductions. For this reason I should be in an all adult household. No kids.

Mabel is a very sweet and loving dog. She loves to play but also to cuddle. She will need someone who is loving but firm and won’t let her get away with snotty behavior but will love and cuddle her when she is a good dog (which is most of the time). She has come a long way since when she arrived. If you are willing to keep working with her you will be rewarded with a very loyal and loving dog. Is this you? Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to  Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
