Other Pictures of Ivory - ADOPTED (click to see larger version):Little Ivory is as sweet as sugar and as precious as gold! This little senior girl was turned in as a stray, but considering she has limited vision and mobility issues, shelter staff suspect the owner was the person who actually turned her in. Ivory is a delightful little dog with a happy-go-lucky personality. But unfortunately, she also has some medical issues as most seniors do. We recently learned that Ivory has either a birth defect of the spine or severe degenerative disease of the spine, that, as a youngster did not pose much problem, but as she has aged has caused her to walk with a bit of a hunched back. Ivory requires pain meds daily to help her stay mobile. She also requires three different eye meds daily. Her medications will be required for the rest of her life. The damage to her spine is progressive, and it is not known how much more quality of life she may have. Eventually, she will be unable to walk. Despite her medical issues, Ivory loves to give kisses, belly rubs, and snuggling. Her foster mom carries her to bed every night where she sleeps soundly, nestled in soft blankets. Even with impaired vision Ivory is house-trained and makes herself go down the three steps to the backyard to potty. Her foster mom gives her free roam of the home and the only time she had an accident was when no one was home to let her outside. When her foster mom comes home from work, Ivory greets her at the door waiting to give kisses. Ivory is not super active, but does enjoy being outside on nice days to soak up the sun. On rare occasions, she gets silly and runs around the house a bit. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
